LORI SAGARIN

Lori B Sagarin, RJE, has served as the Director of Congregational Learning at Temple Beth Israel in Skokie, Illinois, since 1995. Lori completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin. After graduating from the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion with a Master’s of Jewish Education, she began her professional career in St. Louis, serving as the Director of the Commission on Reform Jewish Education. While in St. Louis, she met and married her husband, Rabbi Jim Sagarin. A former president of the National Association of Temple Educators (now ARJE), Lori is also the past president of the Chicago Association of Reform Jewish Educators. In addition to formerly serving on the advisory boards for NEXTBOOK and Project Esther, Lori is also member of the professional team at the iCenter, with a focus on Hebrew and Hebrew engagement. Since 1993, Lori has served on the faculty of OSRUI, URJ’s residential camp in Wisconsin, and currently serves as chair of its education committee. In 2009, Lori received an honorary doctorate in Jewish Religious Education for 25 years of dedicated service.
