Ideas and Activities for Yom Ha’atzma’ut​

Hebrew at the Center’s fifth Hebrew Educators Learning Circle discussion meeting took place on Sunday, March 26th. HATC’s Esty Gross was joined by Dr. Tamar Katsir of the Academy of the Hebrew Language, to discuss teaching materials for Yom Ha’atsma’ut. Dr. Katsir talked a little about the work of the academy and presented tools available on the academy’s websites for teachers in general. She gave several examples of materials for teaching with focus on materials for days that are culturally significant in Israel, with a focus on Yom Ha’atsma’ut. She further demonstrated how the materials can be used for a range of ages and levels as well as incorporated into lesson plans. The participants worked in separate rooms according to school age and in the main meeting room where they shared their group discussions.
