Hebrew the Fun Way: Bringing the Informal into Hebrew Language Learning

מעבר למטרות הלימודיות בהוראת עברית – בין אם חיזוק יכולות השפה בעברית המודרנית או העמקת ההבנה של טקסטים מן המקורות, עבודת המורה כוללת גם מטרות עם אספקטים רגשיים כגון, פיתוח אהבה לשפה העברית או תחושה שהעברית היא מרכיב מהותי בזהות היהודית שלנו. משתתפי הסדנה ייחשפו למודל חברתי-לשוני התומך בשילוב העברית בנעשה הן בכיתה והן בבית הספר באופן המחזק את מעורבות הלומדים.ות בשפה, וייצאו ממנה כשבידם אסטרטגיות וכלים כיפיים ליצירת חוויות לימודים מיטביות ומהנות.

In addition to the clear academic goals of Hebrew language instruction, whether strengthening modern Hebrew language proficiency or helping students make meaning of sacred texts, our work also includes affective goals such as developing a love for Hebrew or feeling that Hebrew is an essential component of our Jewish identity. Workshop participants will be exposed to a sociolinguistic model that supports Hebrew infusion that can enhance Hebrew engagement both within the classroom and throughout the school. Takeaways will include fun strategies and tools to create a more joyful and effective learning experience.
